Area and perimeter of a house
| Area is the number of square metres in the shape. We can work this out by multiplying the sides. SxS= Area 2x3=6 The area of this shape is 6m2. Perimeter is the distance around the outside of the shape. we work this out by adding the sides together. S+S+S+S = Perimeter. 2+3+2+3= 10m The perimeter of this shape is 10m. |
| Entrance What is the area? 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8m What is the perimeter? 2 x 2 = 4m 2 |
| Bathroom What is the area? 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 12m
What is the perimeter? 4 x 2 =8m 2 |
| Kitchen What is the area? 4 + 4 + 6 + 6 = 20m
What is the perimeter? 4 x 6 = 24m 2 |
| Bedroom one What is the area? 3 + 5 + 3 +5 =16m
What is the perimeter? 3 x 5 =15m 2 |
| Bedroom two What is the area? 5 + 5 + 5 + 5= 20m
What is the perimeter? 5 x 5 = 25m 2 |
| Bedroom three What is the area? 6 + 3 + 3 + 6 = 18m
What is the perimeter? 6 x 3 = 18m 2 |
| Living room What is the area? 12 + 12 + 6 + 6 = 32m
What is the perimeter? 12 x 6 = 72m 2 |
